Traditional Texts is a textile design company, founded by Alexia Patsalos, that aims to commemorate South African Cultures through patterns and designs.

South Africa is known as the rainbow nation due to its diverse culture and Traditional Texts aims to celebrate this .The company was established in 2021 when founder, Patsalos, became fascinated with the Ndebele Culture and began to dig deeper into all the gems and symbolic meanings that come with the Ndebele Culture. This sparked Patsalos' aspiration to be able to share her newly found love for Culture and kickstarted the business with the ngesiNdebele Collection. She wanted to be able to teach and share her knowledge on South African Cultures through design and this was the catalyst that started Tradition Texts.

Each textile pattern created has a specific meaning representing the culture it was inspired from and carries elements and information of that specific culture through visual representation. 

So far we are a small team of creatives that aim to expand as the business develops and hopefully we can continue to expand over the next few years.
